Thank you H&R Block – My taxes are done

Well, my 2013 taxes are out of the way. Thank you H&R Block for making it so easy to prepare my taxes online and file online. I don’t pay anyone to do my taxes. I just hop on H&R Block’s website and put my tax info in. They ask all the right questions. No confusion just simple questions. The software is user friendly. I used to work at a college in the computer labs so I know user friendly software. And I give this 2 thumbs up for user friendliness. Since I had also used H&R Block last year it already had all my info. I just had to answer a few questions. Everything is filed and I will be sending my check out to the state of Michigan tomorrow and then I’ll be able to sit back and wait for the refund.

Needless to say, we are not doing anything fun or interesting with the money. Paying on more credit card bills. Hoping to have the credit cards paid off by summer so we can start on the car payments. My hope is to be debt free within 3 years.

So, did you take your taxes in and have them done or did you do them yourself? What software did you use? If you decide to do the taxes yourself I would highly recommend checking out retailmenot for a coupon code before starting your taxes. It could save you money.

I happen to be married to a tax accountant, but before I met him, I always went to H&R Block and was very happy with their services.

What if you are new to blogging and filing taxes? I would love to see a list of things you kept track of in order to make your taxes a breeze. I know about mileage and internet expenses but what unique things can bloggers claim?

I took my in to have them done. With Chad and I both filing self-employed next year, I am pretty sure we will take them in then as well. Eventually I would like to get comfortable enough the process to file it myself. Especially since it cost me almost half of what I was getting back just to file. Not happy with that at all.

Thankfully I didn’t have to do taxes for myself this year. It’s the first full year I was a stay at home mom. :) I will probably end up helping hubby with his though. We typically do them on our own using a website. :)

With so many options available for doing taxes at home, I’m surprised more people don’t at least try this. Good for you on getting yours taken care of so quickly!

Ugh, tax time!! I don’t get a refund – I always owe since I’m self-employed, which is totally fine, but I have no particular hurry to get them done early, LOL!
